When you're on the road, it's easy to let unhealthy habits like eating out all the time and skipping workouts slide. But if you want to be at your best, it's important to make sure you're taking care of your body. Getting in a workout while you're traveling can help offset some of the unhealthy choices you might make while you're away from home.
So we've compiled a list of 5 easy movements you can do from you hotel room - even without any equipment! Use this as an inspiration to build a workout and do one today!
Push-ups are a great way to get a quick workout in without any equipment. All you need is a little space and your own body weight and you're good to go. Push-ups are a great full-body exercise that will work your arms, chest, shoulders, and core. If you're feeling ambitious, you can even try doing some one-armed push-ups.
Squats are another great bodyweight exercise that you can do just about anywhere. They work your legs and butt, and if you do them with proper form, they can also help to strengthen your back and core. If you want to make them a little more challenging, try holding a weight in each hand while you squat.
Lunges are a great way to work your lower body, and they can be done just about anywhere. To do a lunge, simply stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and take a large step forward with one leg. Lower your body until your front knee is at a 90-degree angle and your back knee is just above the ground. Push off with your front leg to return to the starting position and repeat with the other leg.
Planks are an excellent core exercise that can be done just about anywhere. To do a plank, simply get into a push-up position and hold yourself up with your arms extended. Make sure that your back is straight and hold the position for as long as you can. If you want to make it more challenging, try raising one leg off of the ground while you hold the plank position
Crunches are a great way to work your abs without any equipment. To do a crunch, lie down on your back with your knees bent and place your hands behind your head. Use your abs to curl your torso off the floor and towards your knees, then slowly lower back down to the starting position. Repeat for 10-15 reps.
We saved the best for last. This full body movement can be a workout by itself. We wrote a whole blog post with instructions on how to do a burpee so you should have no issues learning how to do one or understanding why they're so great. Want a simple full body workout you can do anywhere - just do 100 burpees for time. One of my favorites.
